Ramadan Kareem

The month of Ramadan, a month of introspection, compassion, and fasting, arrives this year amidst a bleeding and unbearable reality. It is difficult to wish “Ramadan Kareem” when the heart is so heavy. The sanctity of life is trampled under a deliberate policy of violence and criminal neglect—whether facing the destruction and devastation in the Strip, the rampant crime and lawlessness in the streets of Arab communities in Israel under the auspices of governmental apathy, or the thuggery and terrorism perpetrated by settlers in the West Bank under the protection of the military and police.

In the ‘Silence is a Crime’ forum, we refuse to avert our gaze. We refuse to turn a deaf ear to the cries of pain, and we refuse to remain silent in the face of injustice. We have a moral obligation not to accept this reality.

We hope that this month we will succeed, together, in sowing hope for change, justice, and true equality. Inshallah.

Ramadan Kareem – with hope for days of peace, security, and dignity for every human being, simply for being human.
